Why celebrate Fastelavn in Travbyen?

In Travbyen, we organise events such as Fastelavn because communities do not arise by themselves – they grow when we get together for something cozy and informal. Fastelavn is a tradition in which both children and adults can participate, and where fun, creativity and small talk arise quite naturally. When we knock the cat off the barrel, drink hot cocoa or gather around the craft table, we create space for the community.

This is exactly the kind of everyday community we want to make room for in Travbyen – even before people live here. For us, Fastelavn is not just about dressing up and hitting the barrel, but about coming together, playing, and nurturing a sense of community – together.
