Playline in Travbyen is taking shape

Playline will serve as a central meeting point where creativity, movement, and play can unfold. This stage of Playline will also have a distinctive character: a cast concrete path that invites a variety of activities along the way. There will be room for children and adults of all ages - whether it is for play and movement, cozy walks, or quiet moments in the evening sun.

Playline also plays an important role in the vision of Billund as the Capital of Children - a vision strongly supported by Travbyen. It is therefore natural that the route runs through the new district and connects Travbyen with the rest of Billund.

The playful route through Travbyen is expected to be ready for use by the end of 2026.

One of the core values in Travbyen is “Play is for everyone.” Travbyen should be a neighbourhood where play enhances the quality of life no matter the age.

The playful mindset is reflected in every aspect of the new neighbourhood – from architecture to common spaces and outdoor areas. In this context, Playline will play an important role.

Playline i Billund

Playline can already be experienced along Åstvej, on the Sculpture Path, and in the midtown. It is continuously evolving, with both temporary and permanent facilities being added over time.

The purpose of Playline is to create a clear, safe, and playful connection across the Capital of Children, while also linking the town centre with its various offerings and attractions.

Playline is a part of the Billund City Vision – a long-term plan for the city’s development over the next 20-30 years.
