Taking Shape in Shades of Blue
The first stage of Travbyen covers approximately 18,000 m² and will include townhouses, apartments, urban villas, “bokaler” (a mix of residential and commercial units), a community office, neighbourhood rooms, and a shared community house.
Almost all foundations have been cast, most of the structural frames are in place, and the next step will be installing roofs and façades. The construction is progressing according to schedule, and it is still expected that the first Travbyen residents will be able to move in at the end of 2026.
Shades of blue
You may also have noticed that many of the buildings currently appear in blue shades. This is only a temporary look, as the façades are yet to be installed. The façades will form a central part of the sustainable construction and represent the next major milestone in the building process. In the coming months, various types of façades will be added – gradually giving the buildings their final character.
Stop by Travbyen and take a look at a selection of the façade materials – they are displayed near the Travbyen project office.
Travbyen's Green Heart
At the very heart of Travbyen, the Green Heart has been planted. Over the past few months, thousands of native trees and plants have taken root, and the area is already buzzing with life – from birds and insects to other wildlife.
These many trees contribute not only to greater biodiversity but also to improving the microclimate and absorbing CO₂. Over time, they will grow into large, characterful trees that will help shape the Travbyen landscape.
