The Area
A place with a special focus on children
Billund is a place where play, learning and community are a natural part of everyday life. Here, children are considered in everything from urban development to culture and leisure.
The vision of the Capital of Children is felt throughout the city. It is evident in the green areas, the safe and traffic-free paths and in the many activities on offer for families, both large and small.
One area where the vision is particularly evident is in the local schools and daycare facilities. Here, there is a focus on learning through play, commonly referred to as Playful Learning.
Billund has several great schools, including a local primary school, BillundSkolen, a special needs school, Drive, and a large international school, the International School of Billund.
